Connecting Search Console & GA4
Upgrades specific parts of your Market Intelligence report from AI-inferred to grounded in your own real search and traffic data. Nothing is required to connect, the tool works either way, but connecting changes what a few sections are actually built from.
Not connected
Keyword Strategy source
"altın kolye modelleri"
Inferred from homepage/page titles, a plausible guess at what should work.
Connected
Keyword Strategy source
"reis kuyumculuk yüzük fiyatları"
A real Search Console query: position 4.2, real impressions and clicks, people already searching this to find you.
Same section of the report, same site, the only difference is whether there was real search data to build it from.
How it works
Once you connect Search Console and GA4 for a project (a one-time Google sign-in per project), every audit you run afterward automatically pulls your real search performance and traffic data, no re-entry, no toggle to remember. Market Intelligence then reads that data straight off the audit and uses it automatically the next time you run it.
This changes three specific things. The Executive Summary cites your actual numbers (a real bounce rate, a real average position) instead of stating plainly that no analytics is connected yet. Keyword Strategy is built from the real search queries people already used to find your site, with your real current ranking position for each, instead of the AI inferring 6 plausible keywords from your homepage content alone. Ads Recommendations can check your real average position to decide whether paid search makes sense, instead of having no position data to check at all.
Everything else in the report is unaffected either way. Keyword Gap, Content Briefs, the technical audit scores, and Competitor Analysis are all sourced from the live crawl and third-party ranking data, not from Search Console or GA4, so they read the same whether you connect Google or not.
When not connected, the report says so plainly rather than inventing numbers to fill the gap, the same honesty principle used everywhere else in Lumismetric: a measurement we don't have is shown as not connected, never as a guessed 0 or a fabricated statistic.
What this means for you
If you want your keyword strategy grounded in what people are already searching to find you, not just what should plausibly work, connect Search Console and GA4 once per project. Everything else in the report works exactly the same with or without it.
Known limitation
Search Console/GA4 and Google Ads are separate connections, connecting one does not connect the other. And the quality upgrade is proportional to how much real traffic exists, a brand-new site with near-zero organic impressions still has "real" data once connected, there just isn't much of it yet.
